HILBERT, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played September 21-27, 2026, on Tuesday.
 
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
 
For the fall season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (football, soccer) and Tuesday (cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
 
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
 
Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week
Michaela Clark, Cornell
Clark made program history as the first Cornell player ever to reach the semifinals in singles at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament. The No. 5 seed, Clark finished 4-1 after falling in the semis to the No. 1 seed and defending champion from Gustavus Adolphus. In the quarterfinals, Clark defeated Grinnell's Pari Chavan 6-0, 6-1, avenging a loss to the Pioneer player a week earlier.
 
Women’s Volleyball Offensive Performer of the Week
Ashlin Nottestad, Cornell College
Nottestad averaged 3.17 kills per set with a .313 attack percentage to power the Rams to a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Loras and Millikin. The sophomore posted a team-high 11 kills against Millikin, which was a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Regional Quarterfinal. Nottestad committed only four attack errors on 48 swings for the week.
 
Women’s Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week
Kensie Staats, Cornell College
Staats led Cornell's back row with 4.83 digs per set in 3-0 sweeps over Loras and Millikin. The senior also accounted for seven service aces on the week, boosting her career total to 100.
