SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Another day of the 2012 Midwest Conference Women’s Golf Championship was shortened due to the weather and it made for a tight race at the top as three teams are separated by only two strokes with Carroll and Monmouth sharing the top spot heading into the final day.
The teams competed in only nine holes again today and Carroll shot a day-low 172 for an 18-hole total of 350 to move from third to first. Monmouth shot a second day 178 and is deadlocked with Carroll for a chance to move on to the NCAA Tournament. Grinnell is right in the mix with a 352 total that puts them only two shots back. Illinois Col. is currently in fourth with a two-day total of 400 while St. Norbert (407) and Knox (432) round out the six team field.
Autumn Neuhring (Carroll) takes a one shot lead for the individual championship after shooting a 41 and goes into the final day of action with total of 85 strokes in 18 holes.
