Day 2 Results]
ROCKFORD, Ill. - After a weather shortened second day of action St. Norbert is still on top at the 2013 Midwest Conference Men's Golf Championship. The cold and wet conditions limited play to only the front nine holes with only one day left in the three day championship.
The Green Knights finished the day with a round of 159 shots which brings their two day total to 470. Monmouth matched St. Norbert with a second day score of 159 and stayed only three shots back of the lead while Carroll is 15 shots back with a total score of 485. Grinnell is nipping at Carroll's heels with a score of 488.
Lawrence is in fifth place with a total of 497 while Illinois Col. (511), Knox (561), and Ripon (576) round out the championship field.
Nic Vrubley (St. Norbert) shot the low score of the day with a 36 and enters the final day of action with a two shot lead (113). Jon Cohen of Grinnell has a two day total of 115 while Monmouth's David Blake is in third with a 116. Cory Fell (Monmouth) and ian Luby (Grinnell) are tied for fourth place with totals of 117.
The final round of the championship is set to tee off at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Aldeen Golf Club with the winning team earning the MWC bid to the NCAA Tournament.
