GRINNELL, Iowa – After completing an undefeated regular season and winning the 2014 Midwest Conference Tournament, Lake Forest College’s T.R. Bell was named the league’s Coach of the Year, and juniors Michelle Greeneway and Ellen Rogers earned Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.

The Foresters 21 victories this season set a new conference record, breaking the previous mark of 17 that was set by Carroll University in 2009 and 2007.  Lake Forest completed the 23rd undefeated conference season in MWC history, and tied the record for most conference victories in a season with 10.

Greeneway had a remarkable season and was also a First Team All-MWC selection for the third straight year.  This year she led the conference in shots (129), points (79), goals (33), and game-winning goals (11).  Her point total and goal total were both second all-time in MWC history and her 11 game-winners set the MWC single season record, and she is already tied for the career mark.

Rogers was named all-conference for the first time in her third season.  The defender led a defense that allowed just nine goals all season and was tops in the league in goals against average.

Joining her teammates on the First Team all-conference list for the third straight year is Lake Forest’s Holly Lesperance.  The junior scored 39 points on the season, finishing with 13 goals and 13 assists.

Ripon College was also had three women named First Team All-MWC, led by senior Brandi Peltier who achieved the honor in all four years of her college career.  The forward finished the 2014 season with 43 points, on 17 goals and nine assists.  Fellow Red Hawks Kaylee Tadych and Paige Birschbach were also named to the First Team after both women scored 40 points this season.

Grinnell College’s Katy Oldach was the league’s top goalkeeper in 2014 and was joined on the First Team by teammate Andie Semlow. The defensive duo teamed up to allow just six goals in conference play and finished second in goals against average (0.59).  Oldach finished the season with an 83.5 save percentage to lead the league.

Cornell College’s Emily Snider was named First Team All-MWC after finishing third in the league in shots (80), second in points (50) and second goals (21).  MWC Tournament qualifier Carroll University was represented by junior midfielder Sara Mahoney.  Mahoney had three goals and two assists and the Pioneers with 45 shots.  Illinois College’s Sarah Skaggs completes the First Team.  The senior midfielder started all 18 games for the Lady Blues this season and had 17 points on a team-high 25 shots on goal.

The Second Team was headlined by Cornell’s Bethany Stivers.  Carroll defenders Melissa Walz and Kristin Browikowski joined Stivers on the Second Team.  Carolyn Silverman and Elle Silverman of Grinnell, Keli Muchowski of Lawrence University, Ashley Sholmire of Illinois College, Sam Hillis of Lake Forest, Monmouth College’s Alex Ivie and St. Norbert College’s Sarah Bowles all were Second Team All-MWC selections.  The Second Team goalkeeper was Ripon’s Sidney Blodgett.
