OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Ripon College women’s basketball team continues to be ranked in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll as the Red Hawks were slotted 25th in the December 23 rankings.
Playing just once last week, Ripon defeated Midwest conference foe Lake Forest in a 76-47 home win on Friday, December 19. En route to earning MWC Performer of the Week honors, Sophie Schlieve paced the Red Hawks with 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Karsyn Nelson broke the school record for single-game steals (9).
Ripon holds impressive victories over UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Platteville in the non-conference slate. Those three teams have combined for a 25-4 record so far this season, while Ripon has handed Eau Claire and Platteville their only losses to date. The Red Hawks sit one point out of the latest D3hoops.com top 25 poll and hold an 18-game home win streak that dates back to February 2024. All five regular starters are averaging in double figures: Laney Havlovitz (14.9 ppg), Halle Van Horn (11.3), Natalie Rauwolf (10.5), Schlieve (10.4) and Nelson (10.2).
Ripon wraps up 2025 with neutral-site contests against UW-Superior (December 28) and Minnesota Morris (December 29) in Oshkosh before returning to MWC play on January 7 at Monmouth.
The next WBCA poll will be published on Tuesday, January 6.
